Much like the Russian military ground forces, Israeli forces have struggled to advance quickly or deeply enough into Lebanon even with heavy support from the air strike covering them. Israeli forces are hesitant to advance without continuous air support, resulting in slow movement as they require a constant aerial presence at every stage of their operation. The operation faces further complications now that China and Turkey are providing humanitarian and medical aid, as there is speculation that these shipments may contain undisclosed support beyond the stated relief efforts.
