It is difficult for ground forces of any conventional army to effectively overcome guerrilla style tactics adopted by Hezbollah. Entering into built-up areas with the enemy embedded within its residential areas, hiding among civilian meat shields is an onerous task. Air support will not give IDF soldiers a safe passage through treacherous streets and back alleys.
