Running a 5km in 25 minutes

I started by brisk walking, then run walk method ,
Then hard run ,

Then easy run

Now my heart is stable, less cardio drift

But my legs no power
I want to run more and run faster but legs cannot make it
Main issue is legs, not heart

All together it takes about 7 to 8 months
Started since nov 2025

Why Kenyans have thin legs but they can run so well ? Knees never pain ?

I look at their training schedules, they run 20km in the morning and 20km at night

Daily mileage 40km
They not yet 50. As they age also will have issue.

Running too much will cause muscles loss. I know 1 guy lean type run till pee blood. Later I know he was diagnosed muscles loss. I hear already also scare.

I know many aunties and uncles who hardly exercise, why they also have knee problems ? They also cannot do Asian squat

Me too I also can do asian squat easily. Sometimes I guess is ageing + further pressure on knees like running will escalate knee damage. My knee tendon shifted already painful. Imagine if it snapped. This why I told u start slow go slow to prevent injuries. Some injuries cannot heal completely.

Sigh no choice, got to control and consider Japanese slow run
 
5km run in 25min is not easy pace.

That means you go stadium and run one lap in 2 mins. Easy as a teen, torture for unkers. Then sustain for the next 12.5 laps.

Swim also not easy. It's the most technical sport. Like dancing, your limbs need to be well coordinated to get the best balance and streamlining. Otherwise you will be one of those floating unkers doing 2mins/50m.

My cycling group have lots of ex runners. Mostly 40s and above, can't run already so switch to low impact sport on $10,000 bicycles
