Buddha and Jesus did not come to found a religion. (Their followers created a religion out of the teachings, and the rot set in.) They came to overturn the rigid religious rites and rituals, compulsory tithing, gender discrimination, and tyranny of the clergy over the illiterate masses, in India and Palestine respectively

Outer observances and rituals will never get you to Heaven. The way to salvation is inner observation - see your mind and heart and soul and clear it of all obstacles to the flow of Spirit.

I have many ACS friends. Some are very nice, especially those from ACPS (those days you had ACPS and the snobbish ACS Barker - now merged); quite a few are snobbish and obnoxious and judgmental like @True Believer. It's very sad when you see 60-year-olds still talking about how great their alma mater is, texting 'the best is yet to be' all over the place on Founder's Day, and telling their sons, "You're are an ACSian - you must open car doors for ladies" blah blah...

Mostly ACS boys are ignorant and quite out of touch with the ground. One friend once asked a M'sian exchange student: do you Malaysians live in attap houses? Another had to have his maid hold his hand while crossing the road until he finished Sec 4. One uni classmate of mine never took a bus in his entire life.

Look at Vivian and see a typical obnoxious ACS brat. But you have great guys too: Chiam See Tong, Chee Soon Juan.
