Chitchat Would you date someone who earns less than $2,500/mth?

There are many retirees at my condo who continue to drive luxurious continental cars, travel overseas up to 5 times in a year, play golf, shop for branded goods, enjoy fine dining etc. even though they no longer have an income.
Why are there so many retirees in your house? U live in old folks home ah?

Many have 7 figure fix income instruments or investment vehicles de woh

You have obviously never owned a car in S'pore, you low SES loser. For buyers with high liquidity, taking a small short-term loan of 1 year is done to benefit from the discount given by the car dealer for financing from their partner bank. Paying entirely by cash, even if a buyer can afford it, means paying the full car price i.e. no discount. If you don't even know this, it proves you have never purchased a car before.
Save on interest and get steeper upfront discount

Paying full cash may Tio salesperson markup

A PHV driver like you only pays rental since you have never earned enough to own a car in your life.
All cars in Sinki land are long term rental, we only own the right to use de

There is no outright car ownership after 10yrs even u pay in full cash

moi no hiam charbors earning less than $2.5k per month one .... moi will still marry them and make babies with them regardless how much salary they bring home .... soompah! :whistling:

Ultimately, the aim of dating is to form a personal relationship between a man and a woman, in search of a life partner in the long journey of LIFE, which can only happen in the culmination of sacred marriage, of eternal love, obligations and responsibilities to EACH OTHER, and generations to come, come hell or highwater.....

The insignificant nobody me is not sure about other Nations, but in Singapore, even just a mere S$2000 would be enough to start a family, as anything below $2000/mth no longer exists in Singapore, thanks to our ELECTED govt and MOM whom cajole and push biz owners to provide a living wage to workers here.... even wall in the brick F&B owners such as Old Chang Kee are offering S2,900/mth with CPF for willing volunteers to join their organization....

Using the $2,500/mth worker as a example:-

1. At the age of 20, after NS, and drawing a pay of S$2,500/mth, MOST CRITICAL MAGIC is his Mandatory CPF savings that ALONE, had UPLIFTED lives that NO other nation is known to have. He pays 20% of his salary = $500/mth, but so equally true that his EMPLOYER would have to pay S$500/mth to his CPF account. Total is S$1000/mth that he has monthly in his CPF = S$12,000/yr with growing better than bank saving interests.

2.As he is young, he may not think too much about the CPF savings, and may be frivolous, which is only fair in the dating game, to find the one whom you trust and have faith in to spend a lifetime together, warts and all as no Human is perfect.

3. Similarly too our Singaporean females, whom will have the same Human values, and if on the average of same salary, she would have $12,000/year.

4. As the dating game takes time to know a person, male of female, it will take years in relationship and commitments to live together finally, and with proper planning, the usual marriage age is around 30yrs old.

5. By the time they are in the early 30s, they would had amassed a huge savings in their CPF account = $12k/yr X 2 X 10yrs =S$240,000 per year, which they use to purchase a BTO flat, along with GENEROUS subsidies to the tune of S$100,000 by taxpayers, to support the cradle of Civilization - the family unit.

6. Equally, we should never develop liner thinking - straight lines up, down or plainly straight - as over time, as one has PROVEN themselves capable of responsibilities, WILL be promoted with higher pay, with higher CPF contributions by both employee and employer, and thus savings WILL FLY, with enough cash on hand to help the next generations born out of love by the couple.

7. How much does one really needs to survive in Singapore?

i)Transport - $2/trip, $4/day Daily.
ii)Lunch - $5 Daily for 5 working days, at hawker stalls.
iii)Dinner, for couple - $5, with food bought at markets and cooked at home.
iv) Utilities for two - $60/mth.
v) recreation -$50/weekend.
vi) HDB loan - est $300/mth from both.

On the average, a simple household of two only spends an average of $1,000/mth by BOTH of COMBINED income or $5,000. There is a balance of $4,000 which they save each month, for kids to come, or go on holidays.

It is just financial management, and in Singapore, we will leave none behind, as based upon our sacred National Pledge.

Singapore is only expensive to foreigners or to citizens whom aspire beyond their means, but if a pragmatic citizen is frugal, work hard - in time, one progresses and the sky is the limit on how much one can earn, and enjoy the FRUITS of their Labor, over years, with each other and their kids, born out of love and sacrifices by the couple.

Thus there is no need for others to look down upon supposedly low wage workers, and most critical, for the Singaporean to NOT look down on himself/herself with liner thinking that his/her salary will stay stagnant, but have courage, to learn from mistakes and progress, to put food on the table for oneself, loved ones, and society when one has succeeded.
