The SG govt's management of land leases i.e. shortening to 30 years for industrial and commercial land, allows the state to flip land and generate revenue, contributing to high costs for businesses. The high cost of living can be traced back to the high cost of running this govt.

In spite of high GDP growth, real wage growth for most S'poreans has been minimal over the past 20 years, with white collar jobs facing fierce competition from a large foreign workforce. When 4 of every 5 newly created jobs go to foreigners, then this govt is committing "economic genocide".

Public policies appear to be steered by a uniformed approach that suffers from having a surfeit of the same tired and safe ideas that have outlived their usefulness in a fast changing world. When “groupthink” is entrenched like in the Civil Service, it will be difficult for individuals to stand up for what they believe. Those who disagree with the dominant interests of the group may be quickly marginalised.
