Redditer: Christians of Singapore, how much do your pastors earn?

The mega church pastors preach the "prosperity gospel" i.e. donate generously to the church and God will give you many times more in return.
hanor, they urge you to give till you bleed in pain, while they get the gain
Do not underestimate the gravitational force of human desires. It is said that desires make slaves of kings. Christian doctrine may have undergone countless revisions and splintered into many denominations, yet there is one force that unites all followers: desire. You may call them fanatics, but if their prayers are answered and their desires fulfilled, who is to say their faith is misplaced? Desire, after all, may be the quiet architect of belief.
desire = greed, this line of thinking creates the "more i want, the more i get and vice-versa. followers are humans afterall!

The bashing continues ...

In John 10:11, Jesus proclaims, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” He then goes on to contrast Himself with what He calls a “hireling”.

The Passage (John 10:12–13)

“The hireling is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away… He runs away because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep.”

In practice, the hireling not only runs away when he sees the wolf approaching. Even before danger appears, he burdens the sheep, saying, in effect, “Lay down 10% of your wages for your shepherd.” The hireling works for wages. His relationship to the sheep is transactional. As long as conditions are safe and profitable, he will deliver eloquent speeches from the pulpit, stirring hearts with words. But when the wolf appears he runs faster than Usain Bolt. The stark reality is that the hireling feeds on the sheep instead of feeding them.:inlove:

How can a 神棍 lead the sheep out of worldliness into holiness when he himself shares the same attachments and ambitions? He is married, as they are. He indulges in carnal pleasure, as they do. He desires a private condo, a steady paycheck, a Tesla EV and annual holidays abroad - just like the flock he shepherds.

In what meaningful way, then, does he differ from the sheep he pastors? Tio boh? If his aspirations are indistinguishable from theirs, if his pursuits mirror the culture around him, how can he call them to a higher kingdom? How can he preach self-denial while carefully preserving his own comforts? How can he speak of separation from the world while remaining thoroughly at ease within it?

In all honesty, the hireling mirrors the very world he condemns.:poop::poop::poop:

Wasei, 你不客气了 :roflmao:

Most pastors are just scammers and full of crap. Anyway sinkies are just stupid enough to believe all these crap.
Their strategy is to trap the young people into their congregation. Because naturally, when these young people move on to adults, they will be the working class with good salaries to fund the congregation and their pastoral lifestyles going forward....
