It depends. Sometimes those machines display errors; either you scan too quickly or it detects an item error that causes a false alert for no apparent reason, and the staff member is taking her sweet time to assist.

Please be more patient with us older folks. I am very fast with self checkout, but I know others can be slow.

it’s ok to slow down in sg. why follow the rat race encouraged by ruling elites and pushed by foreign trash? if every sinkie slows down and spends more time contemplating their shitty lives, may be they can masticate their makan more and digest their food better, resulting in less constipation and or diarrhea? a healthier gut will lead to clearer thinking. clearer thinking will lead to more consciousness, and more consciousness will lead to earlier enlightenment. and shit will flow more smoothly.

We are tired of the withdrawal of human touch and when it is our turn at machine, it is our turn. If you are not buying anything to support this pathetic local biz, pls shut the fuck up

PAP will never allow that to happen. Enlightened folks will not vote for them.

What do you expect from retards? All self checkout machines are in English and most Chinese boomers have shit English

it is very slow whenever i try to pay with SG or CDC voucher, i cannot even find its category under payment mode

U-star is the best. Their Vietnamese cashiers are the most gentle and beautiful.

Sometimes it does not register what you scan if done quickly.must double check.

It's never about speeding things up, it's to save the money on hiring a few jiakliaobee cashiers. See also the self-order kiosks at fast food restaurants.

This happens a lot at FairPrice and Giant, and it is not just the seniors who are the culprits. The self-checkout counters do display a lot of errors, and the staff are stretched having to rectify the problems, which lead to delays for other shoppers.
