I find Singaporeans are very slow when using the self checkout

This happens a lot at FairPrice and Giant, and it is not just the seniors who are the culprits. The self-checkout counters do display a lot of errors, and the staff are stretched having to rectify the problems, which lead to delays for other shoppers.
It is worse if there is only 2 to 3 self-check out machines available, like those in Cold storage.

This is why I find it easier to checkout my groceries at the good old fashioned physical counters where a cashier is present like at some of the smaller FairPrice outlets.

I hate being pushed and shoved by other people's basket and their groceries, on the counter, when I am not done paying for the items to the cashier. I still appreciate having self check-out.

I frequent cold storage. They do not have 2 or 3 self-checkout. Or at least the ones i go to. They have at least more than 5.
I think they added a couple more. Last time I was at Novena or Star Vista and the outlets there have limited number of machines and one of them is "out of order", while the other customer faced error and was searching for assistance who never came. The queue was also quite long and the front customer's cart was so full it may take "years" to unload. You get the picture.
