Lee Tong Kee Ipoh Hor Fun was a well-known eatery with a long history in S'pore's dining scene. The original Lee Tong Kee Ipoh Hor Fun which shifted from Tanjong Pagar to South Bridge Road, is unfortunately, permanently closed. The restaurant was famous as 1 of the pioneers of Ipoh Hor Fun here, tracing its origins back to KL in 1948 before establishing a branch in S'pore in 1969. My favourite was the LTK Special which was a soupy version, where the silky hor fun was served in a rich, gentle broth simmered for hours with chicken bones and prawn shells, served with shredded chicken and fresh prawns. How many Samsters have eaten here? Do you have fond memories of this eatery?
