Question on booking of guided holiday tours with travel agencies.
on 2 occasions, I've booked guided tours to South Korea and Japan,
with the travel agencies saying the required headcount has not been yet reached (eg 15 or 20),
only to have them confirmed that the tour cannot proceed as due to insufficient headcount as the departure date draws closer.
is this possible?
say maybe the travel agency had a max limit headcount of 20.
they managed to hit 16, including me and a friend.
then a bigger group of say 6pax comes along, and the travel agent then remove me and my friend to hit the headcount number of 14 to accommodate the bigger group of 6, so that have a complete headcount of 20.
is this a practice of travel agents? to maximise their headcount and revenue?
anyone experience this before??
