China has made an announcement, stating it will no longer seek special treatment for developing countries in future WTO negotiations. This move may seem sudden, China has clarified that it still considers itself a developing country, but will forgo the privileges typically granted to such nations in ongoing and future negotiations.

So why is it still calling itself a developing country? Progress stalled by the CCP?

Whats the use when rules and agreements, are broken and new ones imposed at will by the powerful.

Doesn't matter, China will become economically irrelevant. Give it some time.

A 'developing country' gets certain extra privileges.

Anyway it was a mistake to let China join the WTO. It is time to erase that mistake.

Big of china to do that. So that resources and privileges thereof can be channeled to and used by countries that really need them. China is also implicitly telling the world it is no longer the sick man of Asia.
