The overpaid and overrated S'pore Govt is not only helpless to control soaring inflation, but their ill-advised policies such as attracting ultra wealthy foreigners to become citizens and agreements like CECA are resulting in overcrowding, and sending the cost of living skyrocketing. Why are the world's highest paid politicians so clueless about raising productivity that they have to rely on foreigners opening family offices here and handing them citizenship so that they may buy freehold land which is in such limited supply on our tiny island?

Now after GE complain no use one. PAP one ear in one ear out. Fucking 65% voted for the misery of everyone on this overcrowded island the next 5 years.

The inflation rate is indirectly influenced by the nonfarm payroll figure. Notably, the revisions to the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 figures, which showed a decline of approximately 598,000 and 1,000,000 jobs, respectively, will have a direct impact on the interest rate. This, in turn, can lead to an increase or decrease in inflation, depending on the adjustments made.

It's the people who are suffering , not the govt. The people voted for it and are very contented and happy.
The PAP's fearmongering worked on 65% of the voters. We will be led like lambs to the slaughter over the next 5 years.

What did I say? The more they give the CDC/SG60/similanjiao vouchers, the worse the inflation gets.

It's like drinking sea water to quench thirst. Temporary relief, then die faster.

I had the misfortune of encountering 3 CECAs in my condo's gym last night who exhibited the usual inconsiderate behaviour we have become accustomed to from them. A middle-aged Indian national was conversing loudly in Hindi, on his mobile phone, while on the stationary bicycle for close to 30 minutes. A CECA couple were walking on the treadmill and using the adjacent elliptical trainer talking to each rather loudly, perhaps not wanting to be drowned out by their fellow countryman on the phone. These 3 people didn't consider that other gym users would be annoyed by their inconsiderate behaviour.

I have lived in Dunearn Road for 25 years, and seen the number of CECA residents and tenants at the condos here and along the rest of Bukit Timah grow steadily over the past 10 - 15 years.

That is the thing that I don't understand. Many of my CECA neighbours depend on only the husband's salary, yet are able to afford the rental or purchase of a condo along Dunearn Road and a car, while most local PME couples have neither a condo nor a car to their name.

Many SgPRs have a condo to their names.

CECAs parents tell their off springs study at any CECAs Universities including one guy keep saying Uptrons are the best. Only CECAs husbands working pay is equally mysterious. They can easily afford taxis rides daily or cars in Sg. That is why Singaporeans work like horses still stuck with HDB flats

I also marvel at my Malaysian relatives and friends who live in a landed home and own 1-2 cars on their PME salaries.
