I think as one grows older, one realizes that human effort alone is increasing impossible...so one generally leans into beliefs be it Christianity, Hinduism, Taoism etc... there is only so much our human efforts can do...

Actually I know and senior friend of mine who also married a girl he just met and left his girlfriend of 10 years. He has stayed in his marriage for a good 10 years already with the new woman and they are very loving...he always tell me he didn't any any regrets for breaking up with his 10yr relationship girlfriend and marry someone he just met then. The only thing is he did feel sorry to have broken his ex girlfriend heart.

It's not because of age; it's because of timing. She was hurt by the man, and she was in an emotional deficit. She needed something or someone to fill that emotional void. If a handsome John Lone had appeared on the horizon, she wouldn't have turned to God. She was "using" God. And you know when you are new in Christianity, the "bros and sis" will make you feel like you have just been admitted to A&E Department. Once you have been allocated a bed, the 10% tithes will come. Cannot use medisave or CDC voucher one. This is a big business - selling koyok and emotions.​

There are many people who are born into leeligious familee, and naturally becums one.
There are many people who turned to leeligious after some bad life experience.
I doubt there are many, who would turn to leeligious without having born into it and without experiencing negative life experiences.

And the thing is there is no single leeligion that can have a direct proofs.

Hence, they will need to select the one they felt the most.
Or else the only way is atheist.

But as you said, there is leemit to a human effort, so an atheist will probably need to succumb to a leeligion some day, before their death bed, or unless they die suddenly.

A typical leeligion believer does not do that. They believe it blindly. They avoid being confronted into their beliefs. They answer difficult question posed by not answering it and covering it with something else that is not leelavant to that question.

Why they believe in fairy tales in a leeligion book but not a fairy tales in a storlee book?
They were all written by human, not by their god of choice.
