Man dies after accident involving 2 lorries on CTE​

The police said they were alerted to the accident at about 1.55pm, and two people were taken to hospital.
SINGAPORE – A 34-year-old man died in hospital after being involved in an accident between two lorries on the Central Expressway (CTE) towards the Seletar Expressway on June 25.

The police said they were alerted to the accident at about 1.55pm and two people were taken to hospital.

The deceased was a passenger in one of the lorries and needed to be extricated with hydraulic rescue equipment after he was trapped. He was unconscious when taken to hospital. The driver of the lorry he was in, a 24-year-old man, was arrested for careless driving causing death. The other man taken to hospital was the 32-year-old driver of the other lorry.

Two female car drivers, aged 41 and 53, were taken conscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
SINGAPORE – A 39-year-old male lorry driver is assisting the police in investigations following an accident that also involved two cars on Jurong Town Hall Road on June 24.

The police said they were alerted to the accident at 9am.

Dash cam footage from one of the cars involved, shared by Facebook page SG Road Vigilante, shows the car in the rightmost lane, with the container truck in the lane to its left.

The motorcyclist who died in an accident along Admiralty Road last Friday (June 20) afternoon was a single father from Malaysia who worked two jobs, according to Shin Min Daily News.

Chan Yong Kang, 30, was believed to have been run over by a garbage truck while on his way back to Johor.

According to a Shin Min report published Monday, Chan started working as an electrician in Singapore 11 years ago.

Many pedestrians and cyclists have the connotation that no matter what happened, it is always the larger vehicle's fault when there is an accident. No doubt that big vehicles have the duty of care when sharing the road. But the pedestrians and cyclist does not realised that they will be ones to suffer with broken legs, arms etc. Vehicle drivers may be ban and suffer hefty fines. But at the end of the day, your broken legs will not be able to recover while drivers will still able to start all over after serving time.

My advise is protect yourself regardless of who is right or wrong. On the hindsight, accidents do occur. Bad luck. But at least protect yourself to lower the possibilities of an accident.
