Cyclist dies after accident with car in Bugis

I don't understand why the law protects such law breakers...if a bicycle is classified as a vehicle than they should obey all vehicular traffic rules...if a car run redlight n hit a car that has the right of way....the one that run redlight is at fault...so if a cyclist does the same thing..why the car that hit him is at fault?same with pedestrians...If a pedestrian jaywalk...will Kenna fine...so if pedestrian jay walk n get hit by car with right of way..why the driver Kenna?
The coroner found that the Australian woman car driver, could not have detected 4-year-old Zara Mei Orlic’s presence as she ran across the road, since she was only 1 m tall. Remember this sad case?

That part of Bugis is a dirty place. Have they exhumed a Malay cemetery nearby?

This proves that cars cause way more deaths than bicycles do.

That is good decision..the kid just ran onto the road...what else can a vehicle driver do?
A driver, Julia Elizabeth Tubbs was initially acquitted of the charge under s 304A of the Penal Code (Cap 224) for causing the death of 3 persons (a Korean mother and her 2 children) by a negligent act along Alexandra Road in 2000. The prosecution appealed against the acquittal. However, the High Court dismissed the appeal, upholding the acquittal of the driver who was found not guilty of the criminal charge of causing death by a negligent act.

Can't the LTA just create half a lane for all these small vehicles to give all road users a safer place to commute?

end of the day ... the car driver is at FAULT ... SPF will charge him for the death of cyclist ... this is LAW. Cyclists no need worry, continue doing it and be backed by LAW. :whistling:

Clearly shows that bicycles have no place on our busy roads…especially with ignorant users not observing set traffic rules.

Many cyclists don't seem to think that traffic rules apply to them since they are not on motorised transportation.

There are the Tour-de-France cyclists and other cyclists that do it for necessity…it is always the former that irritates and pose a danger to other road users

LTA is at fault rah....Not providing safer roads for all road users. Pack all into same areas.

When my son was in primary school, he used to bring my replica World Cup trophy to go cycling. He placed it in the bike's front basket, imagining himself as a Tour-de-France rider. In an attempt to stop my son from damaging the replica one day, I ordered him to stop riding. He promptly braked, and the trophy popped out of the basket and onto the ground.
