While PHV drivers have flexibility, they are not their own bosses. Ride-hailing companies set rules, commissions and perhaps even dictate working hours. Drivers are also subject to passenger ratings and platform policies, limiting their autonomy. My retrenched former colleague told me that he enjoys being his own boss and not having to take orders from anyone while driving a PHV. During a recent trip, I felt bad when I interrupted him by saying: "Turn right at the next traffic junction, keep your eyes on the road and don't talk so much when driving."
As a car owner for the past 30 years, I can testify that the quality of life (convenience, safety and comfort) enjoyed by family would have been far lower without our personal vehicle.
Driver is right but attitude like fuck
All these PHV are like that easily triggered. A lot of angst and frustrations built up waiting to explode.
But too cowardly to go against pap
I thought price is already fixed during the booking? If there is a ERP it should already been factored in.
I never book any ride and after that need to topup for anything de woh.
The route (and hence the fare) is determined by the app, not the driver. He should have explained this better to the cheeby customer rather than acting like some big boss.
