A credible political party aims to be the next government, by fielding at least 80% of available Parliamentary seats, so they, with their majority when won, would be able to make changes within government. There were 97 seats that was available, including walkover constituencies held by the current ruling party whereby no other opposition party contested in.
Workers Party only contested for 26 seats & lost 16 seats. Need I go on for the rest of the other opposition parties?
And INCREDIBLY, those opposition party figures claimed that based upon their personal election vote count in just the FEW constituencies they contested in, it signifies SINGAPOREAN CITIZENS sentiments????
Worse, they DARED to comment on govt's economic & even foreign policy, when they are NOT the govt nor have the numbers to make any significant change, except to collect $15,000/mth from taxpayers as MPs???
They & their supporters may be able to fool the naive, but Singaporeans are not fools.
