I don't understand how Chinese wants to pick a fight with Trump. My other side of relative was saying that US is a diminishing power in world stage , but who shall fill up the gap if US leaves it vacuum ?

I would not want China and PRC to fill up the gap. Remember ... You shall trust the evil of the the US then to trust the Good of China.
