An acquaintance of mine, only pays 12% in taxes on earnings of 6 digits. On top of that has tax rebates too. His taxes covers his medical, social need at retirement, his pensions paid for life.
The same equivalent lifestyle here in Singapore will actually end up paying more in hidden taxes, levies, fees, tariffs, duties, etc.
For eg. buy a car elsewhere it's $30K. In SG it's $200K after all the pilfering. No COE, no ERP, no petrol taxes, no paid parking, no exorbitant road tax. And you can drive the car for 30 years. This is just in transport. I haven't touched on other aspects.
Don't shortchange yourself with a pickpocketing government.

It’s not even worth comparing right? Tutor earn so much more than a MOE Teacher. Anyone know the ballpark figures for both ?
