Those were the days when the $150 cat girls in Geylang and the angpai girls in health centres were named after household brand names eg Nokia, Singtel, Chanel, Lexus, M1 etc etc
 
The 1980s were SG's golden era. We were well on the way to being modernised but yet had lingering flavours of the late 1960-70s. Cheap ciggies and booze, no FTs just thai construction workers, no COE just the Restricted Zone at the CBD but free if you had four people in a car, etc etc.
