Btw Zhangzhou is where most of Taiwan Hokkiens came from. Spore and mudland Hokkiens mostly came from Quanzhou.

See how nice hokkiens are? 20% hakka votes also 很在意! learn Hakka language and songs.

@k1976 Cantonese faking to be hakka do you feel ashamed that you insulted ALL hokkien women as sluts?
@k1976 you don’t like me calling myself hokkien expert? What’s stopping you from starting daily hakka or Cantonese threads for eight months to glorify your own people and calling yourself hakka or Cantonese expert? I don’t have an issue with that okay?

Hakka people play significant roles in modern Chinese history more so than other southern Chinese groups. Many revolutionist against Qing dynasty rule were members of the Hakka group and in later years many Hakkas join the Chinese Communist Party in their long struggle against the KMT.

That’s not what @Sideswipe said. He seems to be China history expert. I am no expert but I also read before that Sun Yat Sen was not successful for a long time. I think it’s just plain luck that due to finally it’s time Qing collapsed due to outside circumstances.

Not to mention many Hokkiens participating to fight Japanese and died. Not as politicians but as soldiers okay?

So William Lai from Zhangzhou group which historically he will not be well received by members of the other bigger hokkien Quanzhou group. These two groups at loggerheads in Taiwan for 300 years and often fought over land and water disputes. They settled down and inhabited different parts of the island with members of their own kinship. Little intermarriage between the groups and a Zhangzhou person will not step into a temple built by Quanzhou people. Of course all this is history now lah.
