No raya holidays as pAP does not like giving away holidays to the malays. Its PAP version of special privilege. You end up worse off.

That's because back in the day MOE schools (and SAF camps etc) operated on a six-day work week. Saturdays were also work days, albeit half day.

Off day for school children only, but some corporate compulsory forced leave for all employees today as well.
