According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, in 2012 around 7.2% of people in the US were suffering from
alcoholism. There are around twice as many men who suffer from it than there are women. However, there are no two cases of alcohol abuse that are the same. One person may drink just as much as a problem drinker and it may pose no issues to their lives or relationships. So, do you know the signs of alcoholism?
The DSM-5 ('The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition'), published by the American Psychiatric Association, points out key symptoms. There are also many others that aren't included but are widely considered to be symptoms.
