A 32-year-old Filipino man has filed a complaint against a food delivery rider in Dubai.
Authorities in the emirate started are investigating the case against a 34-year-old food delivery rider who faced rape and assault charges.
Citing official records, according to a Khaleej Times report, the Filipino ordered food online on February 26, 2022, via a food app at an Al Garhoud flat in Dubai.
As his food arrived, he told the delivery man to wait outside until he got the cash inside his room. When he fetch his money, the delivery rider follow him inside and tried to allegedly rape him, which he resisted.

The delivery rider fled the flat even without the payment after a woman who shared the apartment saw him assaulting the victim.
The Dubai Police tracked down the delivery rider in the Hor Al Anz area. He was arrested on March 4, 2022.
The investigation found out that the delivery man was only working for two months with the food delivery company.
He refuted the Filipino’s claim, saying that the latter invited him inside his room to receive his payment of AED169. He said he had declined to enter the house citing company policy.
He claimed that the customer brought him a glass of water and tried to sexually harass him, forcing him to enter the room, but he resisted.
The Filipino complainant was asked by the police to identify the accused but refused.
The cases have been referred to Public Prosecution for further investigation
