Is it common to have fainting spells?

I felt lightheaded and dizzy last week right after doing a heavy deadlift set. Freaked me the fuck out. Then I was told it's because I was breathing the wrong way and it caused the blood to vacate the brain after finishing the movement. Sometimes we just neglect our breathing since it's an automatic function.

Got up too quickly from bed. Not enough blood going to the brain due to quick change of posture. It happens all the time from sitting to stanfding up. You may suffer a slight disorientation before blood flows normally again.
This happens when you fly on the plane too when it suddenly lifts you feel like no blood 8n the bra8n, and when it suddenly drops, you feel like brain flooded with blood duringn turbulence.
Hmmm good point you made. I have this habit of waking up from sleep still groggy and heading straight to the toilet. Inside the toilet one stick of ciggie then after doing the deed, straight back to the bed still groggy and lightheaded.

Is this one :x3::x3::x3:

Lower your body acidic level through proper food and doing deep breathing exercises or better still check out Wim Hoff breathing method. Fasting also force your body to reset your DNA back to default. Especially those 7 days fasting which allows drinking water only. But it's not for everyone can do it immediately maybe try 2 or 3 days first then slowly increase again after ample rest up.

But if you have other problems and low blood pressure or other sickness already then take care and strengthen up first b4 doing fasting it'll be more harmful than good if your body is too weak for it.

(In recent years, Wim Hof and his method have been the focus of many scientific studies. Scientists have found a lot of benefits related to the Wim Hof Method, including the buildup of brown adipose , a stronger immune response, and a positive influence on hormone levels. During one study, subjects that were trained in the Wim Hof Method and control subjects were injected with a pathogen and monitored for symptoms. Compared to the control group, followers of the Wim Hof Method showed a stronger immune response and less symptoms related to the pathogen.)

prologue: I donate blood regularly and I never get any fainting spells what-so-ever, did ECG scans about a year ago and all results returned normal.

Just the other day, I was just about to get out of bed, and I simply blacked out momentarily. Thank heavens I fell back into my bed and not those sharp corners of the furnitures in my bedroom.

I regained consciousness moments shortly after I fell onto my bed, instinctively I placed two fingers on my jugular and checked my pulse rate- normal, about 55 bpm. Took the oxymeter from the bedside and tested, 98% O2 saturation. No numbness in the limbs, no cold sweat or any other symptoms.

Not sure what caused the black out, not sure when the next black out would be. Just thankful I’m able to register this episode here.
Hope you're alright now. Probably a one off incident?

I blacked out twice one time, in the span of about half hour. Fell on the floor in my bedroom and in the bathroom. Until today I don't know what caused them.

Supposed to hold the breath and brace the diaphragm while doing the lift and exhale slowly while lowering the barbell.

I was just exhaling too quickly while lifting like doing a normal exertion. Didn't know a simple change in breathing timing like that would affect dizziness. I had thought it was low blood sugar or a burst blood vessel :eek:

the low blood sugar thing more persistent not minute or two but minutes.

Actually, I'm quite frightened of too much exertion with weights. I've heard of blood vessels in the eye bursting. exercise is good. Too much of anything is not. Stay safe and enjoy your weights.

Agree with most bro here, sitting or lying on the bed fiddling with your handphone for too long hours with no exercise, or it could be a hidden underlying condition...go put on your running shoes and walk bedok reservoir one round which I did every 1-3-5 day since you are staying near there.
