your style of baking looks like you are a Peranakan or nonyanese.
i’m partly neanderthal and denisovan. i learn all my nonya and malay kueh cooking (and steaming) on my own from trial and error. the durian kueh is a first time success. can’t go wrong with a whole durian as top layer - more concentrated than what one gets in sg.

This one below is special. Very difficult to find. Its potato plus flour like begedil with same filling as curry puff. Normally chicken curry or beef curry. Yummmm!

One day maybe i will open a cafe serving all these from breakfast till 6pm. You can eat cucur pisang even during lunch local black coffee or teh tarik.

Now you know why most of them are obese and diabetic.
Too much sugary drinks since young. Lucky they now realise sugar is bad and cutting down.
In the poorer rural areas they give sweetened condense milk to babies as cannot afford milk powder.
