SINGAPORE - A 49-year-old Housing Board terraced house in Whampoa was sold for $1.268 million this month, making it the most expensive HDB resale unit to change hands so far, in what has already been a record year for million-dollar flats.

Cheap............... a couple of peanuts.

Sounds like a good deal.

Sinkies aren't very smart eh. For that kind of money you can get more at other places.
Like they say, you can take them out of the kampong but you cannot take the kampong out of them.

I think it's more a fixation with living in a landed property. The "prestige". Most sinkies are weirdly wired. Has to be the education, the environment and the water they make us drink. Landed property = roof issues, drain issues, lawn maintenance, termites, need to maintain exterior facade, burglary, limited parking spaces, hot as fuck during most days and nights. All in, a lousy proposition.

KNN my uncle think some sinkies cum steam upon seeing garden so that they can leesplay their nipples and claimed that it is their private area KNN

Alamak... terrace house cannot compare with ordinary Sinkie pigeon holes.

Looks like one of those houses in the Stirling Road area.

There's good and bad. Good = no neighbours making noise or dripping water on your laundry. No sharing of lifts with odious neighbours.

It’s effectively a 3 room HDB split over 2 floors. Whoever buy for 1.2m must have his head checked.

Renting a property like that at Stirling road costs 4K a month or 50k a year. So the buyer does his sums and found it more worthwhile to buy the lease upfront. And it is probably his loose change anyway.

Anyone who has lived on a landed property will know that neighbours are worse and territorial than peasant hdb dwellers.
As if the amount they used to buy that house gives them a right to be arseholes.

Condo neighbours can be terrible as well, especially if they sit on the management committee or have influence over them.

It really depends on the neighbourhood, and luck/fate etc.

Most people are content with 'I don't bother you, you don't bother me' type of neighbours. Unfortunately, the chances for that are lower in HDB flats.

Must be YOLO mentality. Home turn with 49 yrs left.
Don't lose yr job/ income. ok ?
