Apple announced its divorce with Intel earlier this year, no more x86 chips in future Macs. Only ARM-based chips will be used.

M1 is the new Apple ARM chip.

I guess some people just enjoy getting screwed and actually feel proud about it.
Apple is like the CCPee in many aspects. A company shrouded in secrecy, ecosystem like a walled garden with brainwashed fanboys willing to pay for their overpriced, overhyped and underperformed products, and so vehemently defending the company that screwed them over and over.
