Our underground is filled with concrete, rain water can't run off into the soil. Hence we can expect more "ponding". Shiok lah!For such a small island, Singapore's underground too many holes n tunnels already..Someday some parts might just collapsed n sink in...

Marina Barrage is the vision of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew (the first Prime Minister of Singapore) more than two decades ago when he envisaged damming the mouth of the Marina Channel to create a freshwater reservoir.
Marina Barrage is part of a comprehensive flood control scheme to alleviate flooding in the low-lying areas in the city such as Chinatown, Boat Quay, Jalan Besar and Geylang. During heavy rain, the series of nine crest gates at the dam are activated to release excess stormwater into the sea when the tide is low. In the case of high tide, giant pumps can drain excess stormwater into the sea.
A few 50 years have come and gone in the past 10 years! Pap uses a different calendar from the rest of humanity.Still once in 50 years?
The late great LKY knew it best. It's intent was only to create a freshwater reservoir. This flood prevention fluff was conjured by lesser men with shit for brains.I thought ponding was almost eliminated thanks to the Marina Barrage?
