4 June 517 cases

It's an election year after all. Some information shouldn't be divulged.

Ahhhh.............. but if you think about it, with the lockdown for the last 2 months, if the 81 year old lady was not infected by her DFW, who would she have been infected by? And if any DFW testing positive recently got infected by another household member, who did the household member get infected by?

I'm not suspicious of the DFW sector per se, just saying that with so many unlinked cases still happening, contact tracing has not been too successful, and part of the reason is that people are not being honest during contact tracing or there are people suppressing their symptoms because of illicit or illegal activities. I also believe that PAP are not being totally open about the unlinked cases or are not able to figure them out because of deception. :cautious:
Fair points.

Quite a lot variables out there. Guess MOH also cannot reveal all details to the public because of patient confidentiality issues. Complex sensitive situation.

That said I am quite optimistic at the moment going by the mortality, icu, and hospital figures.

Like I said before, key now is to keep those with underlying conditions ring fenced and the rest of us adhere strictly to health safety measures. And if that new tracing device becomes feasible for the whole population, than I think possibly we may even be able to proceed to phase 3 earlier than previously scheduled.

KNN can my uncle know how to ring fence the healthy working populations with underlying conditions eg my uncle our pm and many others orfit executives KNN there are surely many of them that are not bedridden nor in nursing homes KNN do you mean they will have to be omitted from the society or how they going to meet their family members who have moved on ? KNN

Underlying conditions already means not very healthy...eg heart condition, diabetes, obesity, lung problems like COPD, immunity issues etc...already diagnosed or being diagnosed and under long term treatment... basically chronic illness...

This group needs to be ring fenced until a vaccine or at the very least a fast efficient reasonably cost test kit(like the pregnancy test kit) is available.

Not omitted from society but under a lock down of sorts with as little direct contact with anyone apart from immediate household and perhaps a few other close relatives/friends at most, kinda like what is already being implemented under phase 1 currently for the elderly and vulnerable groups.

Their main mode of communication with the outside world has to be via digital virtual reality, telecommuting.

The rest of the community can then just get back to normal living, try and return the economy back to normal (well a new normal at least) as fast as possible while still strictly adhering to the public health safety measures.

Suppression and any containment of the virus in the community at large will then not be a big concern for the health services.

Again I say look at the current figures: 24 dead, 4 ICU, 300+ hospitalised...this out of a figure of almost 38k infected...

Do not fear, be courageous and apply practical commonsense to get a better balance between the fundamental critical lives v livelihoods issue.

The issue is they are still functional for work even with those chronic illness you mentioned rike my uncle but once other healthy ones are released they will be more prone to catching the virus back home KNN during phase 1 currently my uncle still needs to leeport to work on a rostering basis KNN once majority of populations are released he will be in great danger and will be as good as omitted liao :frown:KNN

Sorry to say this but the hard reality for people like your uncle is that they have to make very difficult choices until the vaccine/instant test kit becomes available.

Best option would be for your uncle to continue to WFH...if not possible then he needs to make some very difficult choices...i have great empathy for people like your uncle...but these are unprecedented surreal times...he like the rest of us need to adapt to the new normal Covid-19 world....if we don't learn to adapt then we will eventually 'die'.

looking forward to SG overtaking China in the wuhan virus league table. quite an achievement.

So long as our mortality, ICU and hospitalisation figures remain low and manageable, who cares.

Let us just adapt and get on with living and getting our economy going again.

Aiyoh, this is Singapore.

It will be mandatory to wear it outside of your home, just like the facemask.

I cannot bear to imagine the logistical exercise and the possibility of creating another possible cluster.
