A 38-year-old male Singaporean was charged on Friday, May 8 after allegedly contravening circuit breaker measures.

Under Regulation 6 of the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020, all social gatherings among individuals not living in the same place of residence are prohibited from Apr. 7 to June 1 (both dates inclusive).

According to a Ministry of Health press release on Apr. 8, Soh Seng Chye Francis had attended a social gathering at Lye Bao Ru’s residence on Apr. 8.

The gathering, which involved five other individuals from Lye’s household, lasted approximately an hour.

Any person convicted of an offence under Section 34(7) of the Covid-19(Temporary Measures) Act 2020 is liable to a fine of up to S$10,000, or up to six months’ imprisonment, or both.


He said: "We are having a illegal gathering.. So what? Enjoy the food to the max."

The caption, which was also written in Chinese, read: "How rare that these two beautiful ladies [names redacted] did the cooking, what a gain."
