Nothing from this site but income from the other site does help cover the overheads somewhat.

I do this because I find it fun and I also consider it honor to be hosting forums where censorship is pretty much non existent and where sexual issues can be discussed openly. If it wasn't for the sex forum where would people go to discuss sexual stuff?

I need multiple dedicated servers. One apache for front end, one more for the MySQL database, one for backups and one just for serving images. Add those all up and you're talking about EURO1500.

I then need to pay a tech to maintain everything ie installing patches, keeping MySQL and PHP up to date, do database maintenance weekly plus trouble shoot and fix when things go wrong. While I can do the basic stuff a lot of this is now very complex because it has to work in sync with other aspects of hosting so sometimes when I fix something it ends up causing problems further down the pipeline which is beyond my scope. This tech costs EUR2000 per month

I then have to pay for cloudflare in order to protect against DDoS attacks.

There is various other misc stuff like annual license for forum software, monthly VPN, domains plus domain privacy add ons etc etc which all add up.

The internet is no longer like the good old days. It is a very dangerous world out there.

This forum will certainly close because it has zero income.

The other forum keeps getting blocked by the authorities so I doubt anyone else would want to carry on after I'm gone. What's the point of investing in a site when you never know when it's going to be blocked again.

Just indemnify the health care workers too. Instruct them not to treat any covid19 cases since most recover anyway.

Yes I have said they should publish both so we can all compare and make our own mind up how dangerous and severe it is comparatively.

I think the reason why they dont do this is because they do not want to spend more resources on testing for flu.

Which is stupid because the cost of the flu tests would be far cheaper than shutting down everything.
