Bread Talk is in deep shit!

Hiring foreigners for jobs at F&B is normal in Singapore. They pay minimum to workers and sell their products high . Once they have the crowd money keep coming in

Support your local neighbourhood bakeries (some of them have been in business for generations).

Stop giving your money to George Quack and his legion of FT employees (predominantly Tiongs and Pinoys, followed by Malaysians).

Yeah I patronise the small independent businesses. However I do not purchase from non mudslime biz or non mudslime cuisines who are halal or display
'no pork no lard'. Like I don't buy cakes from Swee Heng

Even local bakeries are rare nowadays mostly operated by JHKs or tiongs.cause sinkies lack entrepreneurial balls.they prefer an iron rice bowl of 3k a month than take a gamble they might own 3 or 4 bakeries one day.

While doing my research, gathered a few things from the great internet:

-- another "alumni" of Wisconsin International University is former pappy mp Ho Kah Leong. :o-o:
-- after getting his "doctorate", George held a lavish dinner at Shangri La Hotel.
-- in recent years, George appears to have discarded his "Dr" title, based on recent articles in the newspapers, he is referred to as "Mr".

BREADTALK Group's George Quek, his wife Katherine Lee and a substantial shareholder have launched a voluntary conditional cash offer for all the ordinary shares in BreadTalk at S$0.77 apiece, with a view to delist the food and beverage player.

The announcement came as a surprise to some, as Mr Quek had responded "no", when BT asked him in October if there were plans to take the group private.

The offer was unveiled just minutes after the group announced late on Monday night it had sunk into the red for its fiscal fourth quarter and 2019, and is in technical breach of the financial covenants for its S$100 million notes due in 2023, according to separate filings late on Monday night.

What is the strategy when someone IPOs a business and then later decides they want to privatize it again?is the business doing well or badly?

Size thye is like a very old name, where are the young blood?go to the shophouses in any neighborhood marine parade or otherwise, the bakeries are owned by prcs and Malaysians, hair dressers prcs or Malaysians, bubble tea PRC or mudlanders, fruit stores mudlanders, value dollar store pinoys.

It's like our entire economy and businesses is in the hands of foreigners, sinkies all focused on being employees that's all.

ah george is no naive and feeble. he probably thinks that he has little to gain from listing on sgx and is better off owning the whole of his own company. there are bakeries in melbourne copying his style of breadtalk in s'pore. in near future, he may list his pet company in hk or taiwan where he learnt his trade.

Has anyone ever heard George Quek speak English? A video would be most helpful.

George Quek reminds me of Jack Ma (马云) : Both are just the white gloves of their respective despotic masters.

To make a killing. Mike Dell delisted after pushing down the share price. Then he listed it again after a few years, making a huge killing.
