Where are the academic or working papers in the national archive that shows the 4g leaders has indeed sought the opinion of the common people when formulating policies? Ahem the pmd fiasco happened not too long ago..were the pmd riders consulted or had a say in the change in policy?

Their idea of working with sinkies is to 1) form a panel populated by their own Pigs Are Pigs cronies and sycophants. Give the panel a nice budget so the cronies can have nice meals and trips for research, and a little pocket money. Then hold sham consultations with the public, which in the end, they rubber stamp whatever the Pigs Are Pigs want them to say. 2) Hire anonymous public survey companies that do not reveal who they poll, nor their methodology, nor reveal what their null hypothesis, standard deviations, etc. are, and then say that based on these polls, sinkies want this and that policies.

You have pretty much summed it up to perfection. However this is not unique to the PAP. I discovered to my horror that NZ politicians do exactly the same thing.

The only difference it the press informs the public of the shenanigans that go on whereas Singaporeans have to read the posts of Papsmearer for enlightenment.

Unfortunately, u cannot enlighten people with a closed mind, which 70% gong cheebyes have. The other 30%, mostly already know the shenanigans, and those that don't know, will have it articulated by posters in all the alt news forums, and other forums like this.

The press is the main difference here, as you mention. All govts every where, try to present their viewpoints and policies and try to justify it. They are lying of course, because the information they put out is selective to their purpose. The press and true opposition can present opposing views and interrogate the govt. This option is not available here in singapore. The Wayang Party aka Workers Party has never asked the PAP to show the methodology of the survey companies they use. They should also ask how much they spend on all these surveys and polls and how do they justify it. The Wayang Party has also never once criticized the composition of any of the Pigs Are Pigs panels and committees struck up to "dialogue" with the public on their feedback.
