There are many taxes and levies in SG. The pap will arbitrarily increase any of them whenever and whatever they like. Next Jul will be another 15% increase in water prices and conservation tax.

And, if you do not know yet, the pap has taxed 7% of your mentioned 5%. That makes the increase to 5.35% and not 5%.

Also the pap has increased your water price by 10% in Jul 2017. Add another 7% of the 10%.

The total increase in water is 16.05% (10.7% +5.35%)

I have googled for the water conservation tax rate...it directs me, all over the place with their publicity, "blah, blah ,blah". They have removed the Waterborne fee & sanitary appliance right & incorporate that into the Water Conservation Tax....now it's 35%....it a LP LP Tax...instead of cheating you , three times, it is the same three in one...cheat.

Remember, you have to pay 7% GST on the water conservation Tax.....if your WCT comes to $100, you pay $107 ( include 7%)...now, please be reminded that, we have one of the lowest income tax rates...().....but our indirect taxes....is the highest in any world, if you add them up...

The WCT is based on your the average household usage....I have asked them before....for 6 months, there were only two people in the house, morning 7am out to work...come back past midnight....sometimes, Sat, Sun, Holidays working...it was way back then, the water bill, does not reflect the actual usage & the indirect taxes...it was, waterborne fees, Water Conservancy Tax, Appliances Fee & Refuse Fees, this portion, is almost 1/2 of the actual water used fees. Don't forget plus 7%.

I have gone down to PUB & ask, why the bills was so HIGH....was told they average the bill....& adjust..when they come READ YOUR METER. In other words, you pay them first & they will credit back the excess later...& the average is usually higher than normal...if there is any credit back....it is very little..

anyway...no Stinkperporeans protest over these anomaly!...outside PUB Building ( now they are?)....the 70% just love being screwed...nobody is complaining....just pay that 35% & 7%...& be "loving it":p
