That statement does not say that. You simply read it the way you want to. It merely states that any press can be manipulated but not necessary that they are.
That's because some other press said so. They are likely manipulated by some other agency to place SG at 154. SG press could be much higher up the ladder.

That's due to biased reporting from international news media. SPH has always been well respected by sinkies for their credibility. They don't go around publishing fake news which is common in social media these days.
