Chitchat Now this is maximum restraint UK police officers no guns vs machete

It's a very inefficient and risky way of dealing with the situation. The man could easily have run from the scene and killed an innocent old lady or a young child further down the street. It is also quite possible that one or more police officers ends up injured or killed and their lives are certainly more valuable than some loony scum bag.

Why should the police have to risk their own lives to spare the life of some fuckwit who's threatening them with a lethal weapon with every intention to kill.

The large number of cops involved also means that there were other areas of the city/town that had been left without a police presence because they'd all been called to this scene involving just one lunatic.

The best way to deal with such nut cases is to simply shoot them in the head. It takes just ONE policeman and one bullet or two bullets plus it saves all the costs of going to trial, giving evidence and generally wasting time. If the defendant appeals then it's another round of expense all borne by the ever suffering tax payer.

Just shoot the bastard and be done with it and move on to take out the next scum bag.

As you know, Singapore Police is famous for not drawing their gun. Remember the Little India riots. Some years ago in Geylang the police patrol car crew were attempting to tackle a man armed with a knife for sometime. A crowd formed. in the course of it , the man unexpectedly lunged forward and stabbed a bystander to death. When people go crazy, they seemed to have immense strength.

Because modern policing policies are a result of political correctness gone crazy.

Police used to be licensed to carry firearms for a purpose and that is to shoot bastards who don't obey police orders. However a huge swathe of policies that now govern the use of firearms means that officers might as well be given water pistols.

It is certainly political correctness. I remember as a kid reading the newspaper where it was common place to see a report of a detective firing his gun in the air to break up a gang fight. Just appalled by their conduct during the riots. I am sure the riots would have stopped if someone had fired a few rounds in the air.

In the end, they were all rewarded for their conduct which breeds the same poor behaviour.

They should have tasered the guy.

When an offender is armed with something as dangerous as a machete it should be grounds to shoot to kill. It saves everyone time and money.
