The idea of flying to Oz over the weekend is not totally out, I know of a lawyer in Singapore who has property and family in Perth who does it. Anyway it is just an option to high cost Singapore.

yes, an option but a v high cost one compared to train from JB.

This is already out of topic. If can afford to use flying as an option to travel frequently between oz and singapore then that person don't need to explore Jb option as he can well afford the seaview in Singapore . So don't you think this option is already out. At first I do think that you are only giving your opinion but after this few points I think you are always having something against iskandar. As much as I agree iskandar might not be like singapore and people who invested recently might face a negative equity but it does indeed offer an option to certain category of people to own something that they always dream of but could not fulfill in Singapore.

While speeding down Coastal Highway at 200km/hour for one of my leisurely rides, I almost had an heart attack when I saw a new signboard which is in brown and all the way on the right. 1st time I tot I was speeding way too fast and cant see. 2nd signboard came and I saw the same thing at 150km/hour.

To confirm, I went down to 100km/hour for the 3rd signboard nearer to East Ledang and saw that its for real. The govt is very very passionate about this development OFF 2nd link

The idea is not out for rich people, but is totally out for peasant class folks.

True and the rich can even buy a nice sea viewing unit in Singapore itself and can have multiple holiday home which is different from middle class which could not afford a nice sea view unit in Singapore this iskandar offer them an option.

There is still a class of not peasant and not rich, means want something more than Iskandar but cannot afford Sentosa Cove...... Where this category go?

Buying properties with the ultimate intention of leaving it to the children may not be as straight forward as holding equity or cash as it incurred both direct and indirect holding cost.

Some buy to invest, some buy to move cash, some buy for fun holidays yet some buy but they do not know why they buy.
But all of them not bothered about rentals. They just buy and keep as trophies for their children.
Puteri Harbour is one of them.

Also many buy on herd instinct and kiasu syndrome.
When they heard "if you don't buy now, later cannot afford anymore", "later price sure go up a lot one" and they bought without much thinking.
And after buying, they don't know what do with it.
Worse, many bought with grand hope of using rental to cover installment and later discover that decent rental in JB is hard to come by and now panic.

Most sinkies buy hoping rental to cover instalments because they missed the boat in Singapore, as for buying in Iskandar as trophies to pass down? I don't want to be sent to a cheap old folks home in my old age.

Seriously this is one category that can't be helped as they do not know how to manage within their means thus your arguments don't make sense. I think the discussion is about could not afford a seaview unit in singapore thus Iskandar offer a good and feasible option thus people who explore this and use this alternative know their capabilities and wants well. The category you mention does not even worth mentioning as there won't be best of everything. Just realize your argument or point are getting more personal just against iskandar.
