I am neither pro nor against same sex marriages, to me, it is the personal lifestyle of adults and I don't care what or how they live their lives. It however does cross my mind why, against family objections, social and religious norms, public resentment, and established tradition, some people are hell-bent on getting married to their homo-lovers!, and proudly display it in public! Recent years have seen this occur right here in South-East Asia as well, as reported in this case here in Indonesia! I know that transgenders are appointed certain duties in social affairs, so the argument that we are a "conservative" society doesn't stand up, these practice has been in Asian societies for centuries!

Cheers!

Same-sex wedding confuses Boyolali residents thejakartapost.com, Boyolali | Archipelago | Sun, October 11 2015, 6:35 PM

A wedding reception of a same-sex couple has confused residents of Cluntang village, Musuk, Boyolali regency, Central Java. Saturday’s wedding reception had reportedly been opposed by relatives of one of the marrying pair, kompas.com reported.Just like other wedding couples, Ratu Airin Karla aka DRN and Dumani aka DMN wore wedding outfits. Karla (not her real name) wore a Javanese wedding dress and had her hair styed in a sanggul (knot), decorated with jasmine flowers. Dumani wore a beskap (traditional Javanese shirt). The bridal couple was seated on a stage to welcome guests. A banner emblazoned with the message “the celebration of the union of Ratu Airin Karla and Dumani. Give us your blessings”, was the backdrop of the stage.Just like other wedding couples, DRN and DMN participated in a string of wedding rituals. One thing that made it different from other wedding parties was that both DRN and DMN are male. One of DRN’s friends, who identified himself only as Ratno, said the event was simply to celebrate the couple’s union.“It’s just to express thanks to God. But about their marriage, I don’t know how to explain it,” he said.Meanwhile, a Cluntang village official, Suryati, said the couple had not applied for a marriage permit. She said it would have been impossible for village officials to issue a permit as the union violated both state regulations and religious norms.“It would be impossible to permit such a marriage. If permitted, it would mean that we legalized same sex marriage,” she said in Boyolali on Saturday.Suryati claimed that guests at the reception were acquainted with each other and the event was simply to celebrate their gratitude; that it was not a wedding reception.Indonesia does not recognize same-sex marriage. However, in September, an American and Balinese gay couple was reported to have married in Bali. Footage of their wedding ceremony went viral on social media and YouTube, sparking a national outcry. Well, I guess they want to make a statement that they are normal as anyone else albeit a different orientation?

They aren't normal they're perverts.

I find same-sex behaviour as unnatural, but if two consenting adult wish to engage in it, it is their choice. If by their action(s) they offend someone else, it is that person's decision to react to it, and whether it is lawful or not, I suppose that depends on the society they're in. I am not in any position to decide what is right or wrong. We were exposed to and became aware that "homos" exist during secondary school (I attended an all-boys secondary school), and during that time, we viewed them as "something wrong" but growing up and noticing society around, homosexuals occupy positions in society and contribute just like anyone else. And if they feel so strongly about their sexual inclinations/identities, and some are even openly vocal about their position, I suppose they don't want to live in seclusion. Well, as long as I do not fall "victim" to their sexual desires, I can live and let live. A friend of mine and me once were talking about this subject and he said that the only thing that would prevent him on having a gay friend was the sexual part of it, other than that, he has no nothing against working with or having drinks with someone gay.

Cheers!

many years ago i was in all girls school and i heard that it was quite normal for women sharing room together and watching porno and thereafter masturbate for each other.
however, they have grown up and non of them are lesbian.

I think there is a difference between adolescent curiosity, youthful idol-worship, and actual homosexuality. In our youth, many of us did things just because they were rebellious, moronic, and/or downright despicable (including cruel acts to animals). We grow out of these as we mature. Sexuality and gender identity I believe is far more complex than something out of youthful curiosity. Perhaps someone involved in sociology or psychology can explain these things from an academic point of view. The rest of us, these are things we laugh at and poke fun at childishly.

Cheers!
