venus and jupiter alignment

not sure if you guys are aware, but venus and jupiter are aligned tonight within a degree from any vantage point on earth in the northern hemisphere.

pic taken from my iphone with zoom (thus not that clear) at the front of my home. slightly 1 hour after sunset. sun set around 8:30pm.

with 2x zoom.....the brighter planet is venus as it is nearer earth.

I can see both planets at dusk but in the Southern Hemisphere, they appear further apart.

That's how it looked at around 7 pm on 30th June which was a crystal clear evening. Too cloudy since then.
