I hope this Shawn Quek wakes up his idea about being rebuked for his incompetence. Wake up your bloody idea, boy!

Dear Editors,

I was working at the SG vs Phillipines game last night at Jalan Besar Stadium. As usual the crowd will queue up to enter the stadium once the gates opens.

As this is the first match played at JBS, there was a queue forming at the security check point.

Most of you probably do not know that all our MPs and their spouses are given access to all games venues and they are allowed to enter the venues even if the tickets are sold out.

So Mr Edwin Tong of Moulmein-Kallang GRC turned up at my queue and he was clearly unhappy that he being a "VIP" was being made to wait in the queue. So he started raising his voice at me as well as those student volunteers doing the ticket scanning. His complaints were "no proper signage around the stadium", "made me wait so long", "how you all organize the games".

I am clearly disappointed that he being a MP, could not even stand in line and queue with the ordinary citizens who voted him into the parliament.

After he left, the student volunteers asked me who is that fellow. I told them he is an MP and they were shocked. They asked me how come our MP is so uncivilized. My reply to them is our dear Mr Tong is only human. Maybe he had a busy day yesterday and lost his cool. But I am still very disappointed with his behaviour. This is totally uncalled for.

Regards,
Shawn Quek

You cannot blame Edwin Tong.
He was upset that there was not one single million dollar invoice to approve yesterday.

Did the students volunteer out of their own goodwill, or did someone higher up 'volunteered' them to do the dirty work? ;)

A previous example of student 'volunteers'.

Young punks these days need to learn to bow to their betters.

If it was me, I would have fcuked this Edwin SoTong and tell him go back to end of queue !

Not the first time this prick has been arrogant.

Singapore may boast of having one of the highest home ownership in the world, but there are still some homeless Singaporeans who are unable to get a flat of their own.

However, when one homeless Singaporean William approached his MP for Moulmein-Kallang GRC Edwin Tong (pic left, source: Facebook) for help, he was shown a ‘sour’ face and was turned away.

Disappointed and frustrated by the response of his MP, William posted a comment on the Workers Party’s Facebook page to vent his anger:

“When it is my turn to see him at 10pm regarding about HDB matters for a second time, his face immediately turn SOUR and seen very reluctant (corrected) to help ordinary people like me to get a rental HDB flat who is at a stage of being homeless.”

He asked if he has to go to Sembawang GRC to seek the help of National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan in person since his own MP refused to help him, adding that some MPs are very ‘hypocritical':

“At election time, they promise you if they get elected, they will do this for you but as for me, it turn out to be empty promises…Some MPs I must say it is very amazing that in Singapore who make no contributions at all to the well-being of their fellow constituents”

Both parties (young people and PAP people) share common traits like sense of entitlement, elevated self-importance. When these two groups of people come into contact, it makes for a very combustible interaction.

and the hypocrisy continues

money and power do not equate to goodness

Edwin tong even f his maid. He's staying Sunset!! Farking arrogant!!! Just a lawyer think damn big. See kong hee many houses he jealous!!!

What's wrong with PAP having a sense of entitlement? They were solely responsible for Singapore's transformation from Third World to First. And in this coming GE, even a child knows that PAP is going to win big and form the next government.

I find Shawn Quek's story hard to believe.....any VIP that wants to be treated like a VIP will take the VIP lift in the grandstand direct to the VIP area on the 3rd floor. They will not have to queue with the lesser mortals...

Cannot disagree. PAPA should be given access to your house anytime to educate your children and parents and f your wife as well.

So what about young pap people?

Yes, create a scene is the bestest. ET has to be the least qualified SC in S'pore. Well, being a MIW has its benefits but senior lawyers know deserving cases and ET isnt one.
