According to part of Genesis, the moon is a light source just like the sun, only not as bright. If this was the case, astronauts couldn't land on the moon, it would be too hot. It is also strange that it took God the day to make the sun and the moon, but the stars are portrayed as an afterthought of sorts. "He made the stars also", this is a definite sign that the Bible is inspired by man. It is clear that man could not have perceived that the stars were the same as the sun, but in most cases much larger. Naturally they thought that these specks were just thrown about. The verse should read "God created the stars and planetary objects, he also made the earth, sun, and moon". But man, in those days, would have never seen it that way.

Let keep ourselves highly entertained and amused again, sit back and watch how creative and imaginative creationists make up stuffs and after-injections to cover for their inerrant Bible which they need it to be inerrant to support their salvation hope.![]()

You are focusing on the non important things in the bible.
Bible should be read with historical meaning about people and events instead of a scientific journal.
NASA overcame this problem and sent the Apollo mission at night. That's when God switched off the lights and it cooled down. Mission accomplished!
Cheers!
Genesis 1:16 is unambiguous, it clears said that god CREATED(made) 2 great light. The lesser light is of course the moon.
Even though this verse says the moon is the lesser one, it’s still hot. Perhaps not as hot as the greater one.
Let see how the Creationists snake and wriggle! I expect them to say this verse must be read figuratively!
