Singapore has a Civil Service that will function regardless of the political leaders.

The plans and policies developed by the Civil Service will continue to function even when the pap is voted out. There are Permanent Secretaries and ministry staff who will ensure the effective and efficient performance of the SG Civil Service when a new govt takes over.

So Singaporeans need not worry

Because Singaporeans worship PAP. They fear PAP more than they fear their god or gods. Many Sinkies I know are terrified of the prospect of a Singapore without PAP in charge.

Also, as proven in every single GE, Sinkies would turn the other way and accept any kind of nonsense, as long they are provided with a job and a roof over their heads.

Yes, gambling has caused suicides, family breakups, etc. In 2005, LHL said that he will take responsibility for the decision to have casinos in SG.

As usual, in his naivety and arrogance, LHL didn't realise what he said when he took responsibility for the casino decision. Judgment will befall him for his promise to take responsibility.

Most sinkies know that the civil service is loyal to PAP. They don't need formal party membership to declare who their allegiance is to. Just like in Commie China, the troops and civil service are loyal first to the party, followed by the State.
