For me at least. Although I think thats quite high and am looking to cut down on some expenses.

Instead of looking to cut down on expenses, why don't you look towards increasing your income instead?

Exactly. It can be upto 80% if I put in endurance to hide in hdb hole other than going to work :D

Comb your hair, for 24/7 365 days u have been untidy.

Now a days I plan on where to go for holidays with my wife.

Are you alluding that the costs of living in Singapore is at least SGD$5K/month per person?

If you are supporting your old folks and paying for their medical insurance policies, yes it can be easily $5K per month.

That's why you must aim to earn at least $10K per month so that you can save 50% of your income.

How to increase income? :confused::confused::confused:

One very good way to increase income is to work towards becoming skillful and knowledgeable in something that interests and excites you.

For example if you're interested in photography look for a genre that is in demand and hone your skills till you become very good at what you do. Your skills will then be in hot demand and income opportunities will come your way.

For us ordinary citizens, plan what ahead? Salary just right to live a less than simple life.

Give us back all OUR hard-earned CPF money at age 55 NOWWWW !!!

Damn it ! It is OUR blood and sweat money not yours to keep !!!:oIo:

I agree 100%. Many folks did plan 10-20 years ahead, have great and grand plans to spend or grow their cpf money, and then the scums in white UNILATERALLY came up with devious schemes to withhold their hard-earned money against their will. :oIo: So, what's the point of planning so far ahead?

That's an excellent suggestion.

Spending CPF money is not planning for retirement. Spending retirement savings destroys retirement.

There is another lucrative option for those who like working in front of a computer and that is to develop a comprehensive set of skills as a retoucher.

Many photographers love taking photographs but do not look forward to the hours spent touching up photographs to remove technical and cosmetic flaws and enhancing details and adjusting colours.

This has bred a whole industry of people who specialise in this field.

It doesn't take that long to master the skills. With 3 hours a day of practice, anyone with a reasonable eye for detail and a good understanding of the elements that make up a good photograph should be up and running in a year or two.

Agree.. Every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. I hope for the best each time I walk into a S'pore Pools outlet...
