A 12-year-old girl is due to give birth after she was allegedly raped last year by an uncle who told her he would marry her, Guang Ming Daily reported.

It is only now, when she is nine months' pregnant, that her parents found out about the incident.

The young victim, who had stopped schooling, was staying with her parents and her uncle at a house in Sungai Besar, Selangor.

The girl had been raped since December last year whenever her parents went out.

Sabak Bernam OCPD Supt Noor Mushar Muhammad said the uncle fled after the girl revealed the incident to her parents.
