IN 4 years' time, their best players will all be at their peak and raring to go.

Argentina strikers failed to deliver on the big stage. Even Messi made his displeasure known to the press. What happened to Manchester City's secret weapon Aguero? They are only good at defending and disrupting Germany's flow of football.

What a shame that Argentina is looking forward to penalty shoot out and what makes them think that they are better than the Germans? In fact Germany keeper beat Argentine keeper to win the golden glove award.

Messi: Penalties would have been another story

The Barcelona forward lamented his side's loss to Germany on Sunday and claimed things may have been different had they held on for a few more minutes

Lionel Messi believes Argentina may have gone on to win the World Cup had they managed to force a penalty shootout against Germany on Sunday.

After a goalless game, the Albiceleste were edged out in the second half of extra-time by Mario Gotze's 113th minute winner and the trophy was won by Joachim Low's side.

"I think we played really well and we deserved a bit more," Messi told reporters after the game. "We were so close to penalties and penalties would have been another story.

"We had our chances. They had more of the ball, but we had the clearest chances."

The Argentina captain, who was given the Golden Ball award for the tournament's best player after the game in Rio de Janeiro, missed one his side's best openings as he dragged a left-footed shot wide of the target in the second half.

"It didn't go in and we have to move on," he said. "I wanted to lift the cup for Argentina and for the people, but it wasn't to be and we're very sad."

When it got into extra time, it favoured the Germans because the Argentines became nervous and lost their edge. You could see that right from the 91st minute. Actually from the 2nd half of normal time the Germans started to get their form right and became more aggressive. That plus excellent coordination and teamwork throughout the entire match. Germany certainly deserved to win.

Brazilian chicks are fucking hot.

Pity their soccer is not.

Can understand if Korea fails to get 3rd place but Brazil of all countries. WTF went wrong and has Brazilian soccer entered into its ice age?

Good thing I didn't bet "every match Brazil win" like I said I would at the start. Would have claypotted big time.

I am not so sure about this. if a team is hoping for a penalty to win, then the team is not impressive at all. If they are good enough, then win it with 90 mins.

What bullshit is Lionel Messi talking about? Is he aware that Germany have never lost a penalty shoot out at a World Cup?

.

after Argentina Lost::

You must be kidding. Brazilians are overjoyed that Argentina lost in the final. Argentina is the arch rival and neighbour of Brazil. Argentina winning the World Cup in Brazil would be a bigger insult than getting thrashed by Germany 7-1 in the semi. And Maradona would be mocking Brazil for a long time.
