1. This morning, i met a 40+ towkay running a recycling business. Throughout the meeting, he placed his priority banking cheque book on the meeting table, hahaha......so scared that RUN dunno he qualifies for "priority banking". When he was nervous or less-confident during the meeting, he just kept flipping the cheque book as if he was masturbating it.

Anyway, there was nothing great about his recycling business. He is not really into doing good deeds for our environment. I conclude that he tax-evader/money-launder for his chinese counterparts who imports and exports plastic trash to singapore with an untrue value so that they can freely transfer money out of China + handle the GST claims.

I believe the towkay didn't realized that priority banking is not really a big deal. You can automatically qualifies for priority-banking when you take up a mortgage-loan from bank. The elites are in private banking, something that even MAS has little control over.

I guess that cheque book is the biggest achievement in his life.

2. Two to three years ago, there was a condo launch at bedok reservoir. Back then, RUN went over on the pre-launch viewing because he grew up around that area. The agents were intimitating, without even allowing RUN to get catalogue to have a proper understanding of the facing, they demanded that RUN give them a blank refundable cheque to express interest when the launch price was only indicative, hahaha.......hinting that otherwise, RUN cannot go into the showroom, wor. :kma:

Today, my field reports revealed that 30% of the units are still unsold and TOP soon. They will not openly accept a double-digit dicount offer from buyers but I believe if i use the same reverse-tactic and throw them a cheque deposit for 15%-discount to them for consider for 1-month, I guess they will bite at it. LOL

4. Primary-one registration season is coming soon. In the past, most parents could secure a place for their child in an elite school, for a low five-digit donation.

These schools firmly reject these donations now. suddenly, everyone is so rich, most parents are willing to fork out a $10-25K for a place in one of the top-10 primary schools. COE alone costs 70K right? hahaa, the schools realized that they don't have enough enrollment slots for these willing (to-donate) parents. These school went on to focus on screening parent-volunteers; eg. expat wives are coming up with the most attractive proposals, such as making use of their hubbies' secretaries to do proposals for community outreach programmes in honour of the school or making press releases for schools, etc.

Wait a minute. Are we saying that Singapore (schools) don't need $$$?

Nope. I understand these schools are handing donation cards to students annually. Every teacher is like a bank RM with revenue points to meet. The ongoing market rate is min. $1000 per card. Some parents give $2000 each time. Just imagine a teacher's mood for not meeting the target if a few kids come back with a $50 card.

For 1000 students x $1000 per card, each donation drive brings in nearly a million dola. Cool! Why would they be interested in your $10k donation for enrolment? This is like a company rights-issue man. LOL, just that the company issues right annually. :D

My time it was $10 donation card...then raised to $100....if I have to go school & study & meet a $1,000 donation card......I won't go school at all....

5. Times has changed. Just met a depressed friend last night. Jane is in civil service, has a new-immigrant superior who speaks and scolds people in an incomprehensible accent. In addition, this is his style of replying emails.

A company called Jane because the superior xiam his queries. My friend went on to write to her superior to pass the message and cc to the company............................

Jane: "Dear Mr New-immigrant, our vendor would like to hear from you."
New-immigrant Superior replied, "Jane will give you the update"

RUN learns a new style of management from the above example. I told her to quit. White-collar job market is very good recently, compared to six-months ago.
