BOD earned lots of director fees and they should be coughed up. The buck must stopped at that source.

Sorry to side-track. The task of getting Smrt back in shape is definitely not easy. After 1 over year, DK has proven beyond doubt that he is not able to turn Smrt around. Suddenly the guy by the name of liew mun Leon pop up in my mind. He is well like by lky since his pwd days and is well known for being a terror to staff who are sloppy He has also been very successful in his career after pwd. Why not put him as chairman of Smrt. Maybe he is the guy needed to knock some sense into the top management of Smrt.

I fully agreed with you on how the mess was created. However, it is not easy to rebuild a maintenance team especially at the way things are moving. The system can only get worse because staff morale is rock bottom. The manpower lost resulting from each breakdown is enormous. If DK's pay is to be deducted based on just $10 per manhour lost, I think he might need to make payment to Smrt instead of getting paid. As a commuter, the frustration we face at each disruption is beyond words especially when we have important matter to attend to or students with exam to take. Once caught in the station, we can't even get a cab because everyone will be fighting for it. Even if they are willing to kick DK out, it is hard to find a suitable candidate.

I understand that Warren Buffet was involved in selecting CEO for the companies that Hathaway has substantial share and voting rights. I can't believe Temsasek or Ministry of Transport not involved in selecting the CEO that got MRT into so much trouble. I do support your theory especially when MRT is a critical part of Singapore transport system.

SMRT should really be severely punished. their main purpose is simply to provide AFFORDABLE AND RELIABLE public transport for our own people, but turns out that they achieved NEITHER of those. instead, they are very much doing the contrary. RAISING FARES AND STILL SO MANY BREAKDOWNS! :oIo:

It is very obvious that all the BOD are are appointed based on political agenda.
These are the fat cats that know nuts about transport engineering.
They don't really call the shots with voting rights.
it's all well under control by "Tema The Sick".
They are only concern about increasing profits and share prices.
