TRE reported Dr Tan Cheng Bock’s Facebook posting on 7 February 2014 (‘Tan Cheng Bock: I was ‘un-invited’ to CNY garden party‘) where he related how he was infamous “un-invited” to the annual Chinese New Year Garden Party at the Istana hosted by the Prime Minister and his Cabinet.
Yesterday (10 Feb), TRE received the above photo of an invite extended to a Filipino, Alvin Dela Cruz Moreno. It is not known if the invitee is an expatriate, a Singapore permanent resident or a new Singapore citizen.
The sender said that the Filipino invitee is a friend of his, working in Singapore. The invitee also posted photos of himself taken with the Ministers at the party, the sender said.
The signature in Chinese on the invitation card belongs to Minister Grace Fu (傅海燕). TRE can confirm the signature at bottom right of the centre page of the invitation card belongs to DPM Tharman, who is also the Chairman of MAS (since 2011). His signature appears on all the Singapore dollar notes from 2011 onwards.
Is the Filipino an ex-advisor who stood down after the last general election? Is he a PA’s grassroots member? What are his contributions to Singapore?
